Pulp and Paper Operations

Keep your material moving - it's the first rule of business in the pulp and paper industry. That's why fighting build-up and chokes is so important. The PowerShot® keeps you up and running by doing the job throughout your plant.

Chip Silos

The chip silo is really where it all begins. But if the chips can't flow, the paper making process stops dead in its tracks. By dellivering a high-pressure blast at key spots in your chip silo, the PowerShot® lets you clear chokes and bridges quickly. And that means that you get your materials in a hurry, and keep your operation up and running.

Rotary Kilns

Clearing rings and large coatings can keep you shut down for hours - even days - on end. Using the PowerShot®, you can avoid the long cool-down periods required to allow men and equipment to work inside the kiln. By installing PowerShot® base sockets on the kiln shell where rings occur most, you can blast away large amounts of buildup, forming a key section. The rings then lose their stability and peel away, leaving a clean kiln and the brick intact. All that's left is to turn on the kiln and feed out the loose material - without the need for extra equipment.

Compared to removing rings the old-fashioned way, the PowerShot® takes little time to get the job done. Typically, in six to eight hours - at times even less - the PowerShot® can remove rings from a 20-30 foot area - without your ever having to send men into the kiln. After that, you light the flame, get your kiln back up to temperature and get back on line.

Hot Lime Silos

Even when hot lime is flowing into the silo, cool lime can build up on silo walls or cause a choke at the bottom. By blasting at key spots on your hot lime silo, the PowerShot® clears chokes and makes buildup slough down off silo walls.
