This is how the ATD PowerShot® works
Your rotary kiln is the heart of your entire operation. When it shuts down, that shuts down or slows down your whole plant or mill production.

That's a problem you don't want to put up with for long, for it will deeply affect your bottom line performance. And today that's more critical than ever.
Now you can keep those problems from happening - by installing the JBC Industries ATD PowerShot® System.
No other method you're now using or thinking of using to eliminate rings and chokes in your rotary kiln operation can come close to the ATD PowerShot® System. It has become the leading ring-breaking system in the world because it is:

Fastest
When flow is slowed by a ring or choke in your kiln system, you know you've got to move fast. If your PowerShot® is loaded and ready for action, it only takes a few minutes of preparation before your people can begin to clear a problem. And the whole job often can be completed in a very short time. Other methods of buildup dislodgment may stop production lines for days while you cool, clean and reheat the kiln.

Most Efficient
The ATD PowerShot® System outguns any other way to remove rings from a rotary kiln. No more need to use time-consuming techniques that can contaminate your materials - and the atmosphere!
The ATD PowerShot® System - with its safe and powerful carbon dioxide blasts - gets the lead out in more ways than one. Just one quick, well-placed PowerShot® removes approximately three tons of material right where you know the buildup is occurring. Location does not matter to the ATD PowerShot® System, for it works in the exact area of the buildup. Three or four PowerShots® of safe and powerful carbon dioxide in just a few minutes can have your kiln flowing again - with little or no down time and heat-up costs!

Safest for Workers
You don't risk the lives or safety of your workers when you use the ATD PowerShot® System and follow our recommended procedure. No one has to go inside a kiln. There is no fear of prolonged exposure to high heat or contaminated air. There is no danger of loosened material falling on a worker and injuring or burying them.

Least Expensive
Compare, for example, the ATD PowerShot® System to the most popular method here in America for clearing rotary kiln rings. Take a ring about four feet thick. It's not uncommon to have to fire thousands of shots at a cost of thousands of dollars and many hours of down time.

Other ring removal methods can cost you a shutdown for up to eight days.

Other techniques, such as sending workers inside to remove rings, can take as many as eight days. That usually means the services of up to 40 workers - six men to a crew, who must replace each other every half hour because of the intense heat inside the kiln.
Our customers report that sometimes they can clear a ring using the ATD PowerShot® system with only one or two workers and as few as four blasts at $30.00 each - for a total cost of $120.00 - and as little as one hour of down time, depending on the rings. Of course, with no two rings being exactly alike, it might take twice the time and effort, but it will still have your kiln back in business in a hurry.

Pays for itself within the first year

Because of the savings on the job, installation costs for the ATD System are generally paid back within a year. And the equipment can be used and reused for up to twenty years.
The ATD PowerShot® System is used in almost all European countries and on almost every continent. In some countries it is the only system used. Look into the ATD PowerShot® System from JBC Industries before you waste more time and money with your present system.

How the ATD PowerShot ® System Blasts Rings and Buildups Where They Live:
The ATD PowerShot® System is built around a "PowerShot®" tube (see diagram), which fits neatly through a small pre-installed base located at the heart of the area where rings build up inside a rotary kiln. Several strategically placed bases with locking plates allow a worker to pinpoint trouble spots.
The "PowerShot®" uses special ammunition; a cartridge filled with carbon dioxide, which is perfectly safe for any application, including situations that involve flammable gasses. For when the "PowerShot®" is triggered, the carbon dioxide expands violently and swiftly - so swiftly that it refrigerates, taking it to a temperature low enough to avoid ignition of any air-gas mixtures inside the kiln.
A special electrical "trigger" sets off a fuse in the gas generator cartridge. Within 20 milliseconds about 50 liters of carbon dioxide gas are created. This quick release provides, not a dangerous explosion, but a safe and powerful "push" that can dislodge about three tons of ring at a single blast. The push will not damage brick linings. The gas will not contaminate your product or the atmosphere.
The "PowerShot®" has a lifetime of up to 20 years and can be reused over and over. It is a simple and quick procedure to load the carbon dioxide cartridge. Most customers find it a smart idea to have the "PowerShots®" loaded and ready to blast at a moments notice. They are perfectly safe to handle and transport, and will not go off until you want them to.
